NARSAD's Distinguished Investigator Award Program provides support for experienced investigators (full professor or equivalent) conducting neurobiological research. A one-year award of $100,000 is provided for established scientists pursuing innovative projects in diverse areas of neurobiological research. Areas of particular interest to the Scientific Council's Selection Committee include:

The deadline for the 2010 Distinguished Investigator Awards, first round letters of intent, has passed. Electronic applications for the 2011 Distinguished Investigator Award will be accepted in April, 2010, with a May 15, 2010 deadline. Requests for further information will be made to selected investigators and declinations will be sent in early August, 2009. Final applications (second round--by invitation only) will be due in September, 2009. A deadline will be included in second-round materials.
