Kristy L. Dalrymple, Ph.D.
Young Investigator
Dr. Dalrymple is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Brown Medical School and Rhode Island Hospital. In 2005, she received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Drexel University, Philadelphia. Under the mentorship of James Herbert, Ph.D. at Drexel, she investigated the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy for social phobia. Dr. Dalrymple began working as a postdoctoral fellow with Mark Zimmerman, M.D., in 2005. While working with Dr. Zimmerman, she continued to pursue her interest in social phobia by investigating the assessment and treatment of the disorder in patients who are also depressed. Her NARSAD Young Investigator Award will allow her to continue this line of research by developing and investigating the preliminary efficacy of a behavioral psychotherapy in addition to pharmacotherapy to treat individuals diagnosed with both major depression and social phobia.
