Jinbo Fan, Ph.D.
Young Investigator
Dr. Jinbo Fan received his B.S. from Sichuan University (China) in 1998, and his Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (China) in 2003. He did his doctoral study in Dr. Lin He’s laboratory where he studied the genetic basis of psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Fan is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, working with Dr. Pamela Sklar to investigate susceptibility gene(s) for bipolar disorder. His current research interest focuses on genetic dissection of major psychiatric disorders, such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Dr. Fan has received several awards, including a travel award from the International Society of Psychiatric Genetics (ISPG), a doctoral dissertation award from Ministry of Education of China, and a Charles A. King Trust Postdoctoral Fellowship from The Medical Foundation (TMF).
