Darin D. Dougherty, M.D. (Young Investigator 2003) of Massachusetts General Hospital, is conducting neuroimaging studies to investigate the functional neurobiology of anger. Approximately, one-third of depressed outpatients have sudden spells of anger accompanied by symptoms of autonomic activation. Dr. Dougherty will conduct anger induction paradigms with healthy volunteers and patients with unipolar depression with and without anger attacks using fMRI.
