Stephanie Dulawa, Ph.D. (Young Investigator 2007) of University of Chicago, will use the mouse model to examine both genetic and early environmental factors on the antidepressant response. Both genes and environment contribute to the development of depression and anxiety disorders, and since a considerable percentage of patients do not respond to antidepressant treatment, it will be critical to determine the genetic and environmental factors that predict treatment outcome. Dr. Dulawa’s work should help guide future research into the causes and treatment of anxiety and depression. Program Area: MULTIPLE FOCUS\Anxiety Disorders/Mood Disorders |
