David Mischoulon, M.D., Ph.D. (Young Investigator 2000) of Massachusetts General Hospital, is conducting a trial of docosohexaenoic acid (DHA), an omega-3 fatty acid, in depression. DHA is found in eggs, red meats, and cold-water fish. Subjects will undergo treatment with either DHA or a placebo (sugar pill), and depressive symptoms will be assessed before and after treatment. This study may identify a potential new treatment for depression. Program Area: MOOD DISORDERS\Depression (Unipolar) |
