Alexander Mishory, M.D. (Young Investigator 2000) of Ben Gurion University, is conducting a trial of phenytoin (Dilantin) in the treatment of bipolar disorder. Phenytoin is an anticonvulsant that may be effective for bipolar disorder. Dr. Mishory will conduct a one-year double-blind study of phenytoin vs. placebo which is added to ongoing medications in bipolar patients with inadequate treatment response.
