This disorder is characterized by severe deficits in social functioning, communication, and behavior. Previous work has shown effectiveness of mirtazapine in the treatment of aggression, agitation, and anxiety. Half of the patients in this study will be administered mirtazapine, and half will receive placebo. The groups will be compared after 8 weeks of treatment to determine which respond to mirtazapine.
