Sarah Pratt, Ph.D. (Young Investigator 2003) of Dartmouth College, will evaluate the use of memory strategies and their impact on medication adherence in older adults with schizophrenia. There is substantial medical co-morbidity in older adults with schizophrenia, and medication non-adherence places this vulnerable group at risk for psychiatric and functional decline as well as serious medical complications. Participants will complete neuropsychological tests designed to assess use of memory strategies to improve medication adherence. Findings will be used to design a medication adherence intervention tailored for older adults with schizophrenia. Program Area: SCHIZOPHRENIA/PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS\Schizophrenia |
