Thomas G. Schulze, M.D. (Young Investigator 2002) of Central Institute of Mental Health Mannheim/Germany, hypothesizes there is a relationship between clinical features such as comorbid diagnosis, suicidal behavior, psychotic or melancholic features, etc., and evidence of linkage to bipolar affective disorder (BPAD) at various loci across the genome. He will explore phenotype-genotype relationships in BPAD in seven major pedigree samples. His study may help to develop new phenotypic definitions for BPAD that will be more susceptible to study by genetic methods. Program Area: MOOD DISORDERS\Bipolar |
