Simona Suchan, M.D. (Young Investigator 2000) of Dartmouth College, is examining whether acute testosterone depletion has detectable cognitive and behavioral changes in elderly men. Subjects will be examined prior to and following testosterone depletion with regard to standard measures of cognitive function and depression, focusing on those functions thought to be affected by testosterone and other androgens. This project may provide important clues regarding the potential future use of testosterone in elderly men. Program Area: MOOD DISORDERS\Bipolar |
