Ranjana Verma, Ph.D. (Young Investigator 2007) of Johns Hopkins University, plans to study gene variations in the neurotrophin system and their involvement in causing major depression. Dr. Verma’s hypothesizes that seven additional neurotrophin system genes harbor depression-associated sequence variations. The results of this study could provide new evidence in the role of neurotrophin system genes in major depression susceptibility. Program Area: MOOD DISORDERS\Unipolar |
