 Project Summary  Kristine Yaffe, M.D. (Young Investigator 2001) of University of California, San Francisco, will study symptoms of depression in a multi-ethnic cohort of over 700 frail elders. The prevalence and predictors of depressive symptoms will be determined. In addition, the course and process of care in these depressed patients will be investigated. Furthermore, the association between depressive symptoms and several outcomes, including nursing home placement and hospitalizations, will be addressed.
